Food and Drink

Case EBBA

In 2009, Casaforte selected the food & drink sector as priority in its investment strategy, considering perspectives for consumption growth in the country.

Casaforte acquired Maguary, the juice operations of Kraft Foods in Brazil, and then merged it with Dafruta. The new company was named ebba, acronym for Brazilian Food and Drink Company, and at the time was second in sales in Brazil.

Through the brands Maguary and Dafruta, ebba sells concentrated juice, ready-to-drink juice, and semi-processed products for other industries.

Under the management of Casaforte, from 2009 to 2014, ebba’s revenues and EBITDA more than doubled, consolidating the company as leader of the juice sector in Brazil.

In July 2015, ebba was sold to Britvic, a multinational beverage company based in London, market leader in the UK, with operations in Ireland, France, Benelux, USA, India, and Australia. The transaction generated a more than 5 times return to the investors.
