Renewable Energy

In renewable power, Casaforte has invested in the development of power projects with over 1.2 GW of installed capacity.

 

In 2009, Casaforte started to invest in the development and installation of small hydroelectric power generation projects (PCH and CGH) with a total 16 MW in the west of the State of Santa Catarina.   The Company also invested in wind power generation projects with over 1GW of installed capacity, located in the north of the State of Bahia.  This portfolio of hydroelectric and wind projects was sold in 2022.

 

In 2017, Casaforte started investing in solar power generation by building photovoltaic energy generation plants (UFVs) in Minas Gerais, totaling 10 MW. The UFVs sell energy in the Distributed Generation regulatory environment.  These projects were sold in 2022.

 

In 2019, Casaforte raised the FIP-IE Solar I Infrastructure fund to invest more capital in Distributed Generation.  By 2024, the Fund had already committed all of its capital to finance the construction of solar projects with a total of 45 MW, located in the States of Alagoas, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Pará, Pernambuco and Piauí.

 

In 2022, to continue investing in Distributed Generation, Casaforte launched the FIP-IE Solar II. This fund has already invested in the development and implementation of solar projects with over 120MW, located in the states of Ceará, Pará and Pernambuco.
