Renewable Energy
Investment in hydroelectric, wind and solar generation since 2009
Since its foundation, Casaforte has invested in renewable energy generation projects totaling more than 1.2 GW of installed capacity.
In 2009, Casaforte began investing in the sector by implementing hydroelectric power generation projects (PCH and CGH) totaling 16 MW in western Santa Catarina. In parallel, the company invested in the development of wind power generation projects with more than 1 GW of total capacity, located in northern Bahia. The portfolio of hydroelectric and wind projects was sold in 2022.
In 2017, Casaforte began investing in solar energy through the implementation of photovoltaic power generation plants (UFVs) in Minas Gerais, with a total installed capacity of 10 MW, leased in the Distributed Generation regulatory environment. The UFVs were sold in 2022.
In 2019, the company launched the Solar Infrastructure Equity Investment Fund I, also for investment in UFVs for Distributed Generation. In 2024, the Solar Fund I has already committed all of its capital to investment in the implementation of projects totaling 45 MW, located in the states of Alagoas, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Pará, Pernambuco and Piauí.
To continue investing in Distributed Generation, Casaforte launched the Solar Infrastructure Equity Investment Fund II in 2022. By 2024, the Solar Fund II had already invested in the development and implementation of projects totaling more than 120 MW, located in the states of Ceará, Pará and Pernambuco.
