Renewable Energy

Investment in hydroelectric, wind and solar generation since 2009

Since its foundation, Casaforte has invested in the development and implementation of renewable energy generation projects totaling more than 1.2 GW of installed capacity.

In 2009, Casaforte began investing in the energy sector through the development of Small Hydroelectric Power Plants (PCHs and CGHs), with a combined installed capacity of 16 MW, located in Santa Catarina. In parallel, the Company invested in the development of wind power projects totaling more than 1 GW of capacity in Bahia. The hydroelectric and wind power portfolios were divested in 2022.

In 2017, Casaforte entered the solar energy segment through the implementation of photovoltaic power plants (PV plants) in Minas Gerais, operated under lease agreements within the Distributed Generation framework. These assets were also divested in 2022.

In 2019, Casaforte launched FIP IE Solar I, an Infrastructure Investment Fund focused on investments in PV plants for Distributed Generation. Solar I Fund has fully committed its capital to projects totaling approximately 45 MW of installed capacity, located in the states of Alagoas, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Pará, Pernambuco, and Piauí.

Continuing its investment strategy in solar power generation, Casaforte launched FIP IE Solar II in 2022, also structured as an Infrastructure Investment Fund. Since then, Solar II Fund has invested in projects totaling more than 50 MW of installed capacity across the states of Ceará, Pará, Pernambuco, and Rio Grande do Norte, and continues to evaluate new investment opportunities in the sector.
